Hometown: Hopewell Junction, New York

Bio: Hey! I’m from the Hudson Valley in New York and as a junior in the College of Engineering, this is my twelfth year playing clarinet. I was really involved as a student leader in my high school music program, and thought I’d be mostly done after that going into college. However, I’m glad to say I found a family in BU Bands thanks to its wonderful community and direction, and I’m only getting more involved every year. In the last 2 years, I’ve played in Pep Band, Concert Band, Chamber Ensemble, Summer Concert Band, and Marching Band. Besides music, I love running around to explore Greater Boston and I have yet another family in the BU Running Club. Meanwhile I’m studying to chase my dreams as an aerospace engineer in the commercial spaceflight industry, so I also have a passion for literal rocket science, with lots of help from the BU Rocket Propulsion Group. And when I have free time, I like to explore new cities, hang out with friends, and enjoy my life! 

Favorite BU Bands memory: My favorite BU Bands memory is the first BU-BC hockey game of my freshman year in October 2018— before that game, I wasn’t really sure about pep band because I never followed hockey. Seeing Agganis Arena at full energy for the first time and how much our band lit up the Dog Pound though, I realized I didn’t have to know anything about the sport to have fun. All that matters is that I love BU and BU loves hockey. We lost that game, but my faith in my place at BU Bands has never wavered since.
