Ally Kallfelz

Marching Band Color Guard Section Leader

Hometown: Easton, Massachusetts

Bio: I joined color guard in eighth grade and instantly fell in love with the feeling of performing alongside talented musicians. Now, after doing marching band for almost a decade, I cannot believe this is my final year. I joined the BU Marching Band my freshman year not only because I wanted to continue to pursue my passion for color guard, but also because I knew it would give me an instant sense of home at BU, and it has! I look forward to walking down Comm. Ave. and seeing members of my BU band family every day. When I’m not spinning a flag, you might find me writing creative stories, watching HGTV, or eating Italian food in the North End.

Favorite BU Bands memory: My favorite BU Bands memory is the first time I performed at the Collegiate Marching Band Festival in Allentown, PA during my freshman year. It was probably the biggest crowd I’ve ever performed in front of, and that year our show was “Take Me Out to Fenway.” When the band arrived at the chorus of “Sweet Caroline” and the color guard began our big flag feature, nearly everyone in the stands stood up and sang. Absolutely breathtaking and unforgettable.
