Alex Birger

Hometown: Larchmont, New York

Bio: I am currently a 3rd year Music Education major at Boston University. I play Clarinet, Saxophone, and Flute and am at BU as a classical clarinetist studying in Kai-Yun Lu’s clarinet studio. As a music major, I am a member of the Boston University Wind Ensemble and am also involved in many BU Bands Ensembles. Within the BU Bands program, I am a member of the pep band, concert band, scarlet band, and jazz band. I currently serve as the saxophone section leader of the BU Pep Band. Additionally, I am an active member of the Eta Gamma chapter of TBSigma, the National Honorary Band Service Sorority where I am the Focus on Five Liaison and Sisterhood/Spirit Chair. 

Favorite BU Bands memory: My favorite BU Bands memory is forgetting to play the end of the player intros because they announced my favorite player, Vinnie Purpura, was starting.
