Iliana Smith

Hometown: Franklin, Wisconsin

Short Bio: Hi! I am a third-year member of the marching band, with two years on bass 1 and one year on bass 2 in the drumline. I started playing percussion in fourth grade after I saw someone playing the sleigh bells and became determined to do it myself. I am a huge fan of the marching arts, including DCI (Drum Corps International), as well as music in general and the way it brings people together. I also love to bake (my goal is to own my own bakery someday), see musicals (I will talk to anyone about Dear Evan Hansen), watch vine/meme compilations, play video games (Breath of the Wild is my JAM), and hang out with my band buds. I also have three adorable cats at home that I miss very much named Doc, Cap, and Mouse, and two cats here in Boston, Clover and No-Name (she literally does not have a name yet). Favorite thing about BU Bands: My favorite part about BU bands is the community it creates. Almost all of my friends are in band and the family that I’ve gained from being a part of this program is incredible and I wouldn’t trade it for the world!
