Athletic Bands Teaching Assistant

Amanda is a second year graduate student pursuing a master of music education degree at Boston University.

A native of Fort Loramie, Ohio, Amanda received a bachelor of music education degree from Ohio University in Athens, OH. During her undergraduate career, she was a member of the Ohio University Marching 110 and held leadership roles in CNAfME and Kappa Kappa Psi.

Prior to attending Boston University, Amanda has spent three years teaching music in the public school system. She taught band in grades 5-12 as well as elementary and high school general music at Southeastern Local Schools. During her professional career, she has enjoyed being a member of state music education associations and the Massachusetts state chair for Women Band Director’s International.

As a graduate student, Amanda has worked with the Boston Symphony Orchestra as a collegiate ambassador and arts administration intern. She also works alongside BU faculty as a music education research assistant.

Amanda is looking forward to continuing her involvement with the BU Marching Band and Pep Band this upcoming year.
