Class Gift Committee

Each year, members of BU’s graduating class band together to support future BU students—and to give thanks for the many opportunities their BU education has provided. The Class Gift Committee includes undergraduate and graduate students who spearhead the fundraising effort for the graduating class’s gift to BU and plan major events and promotions for the class.

Who should apply?

The Class Gift Committee is responsible for educating the graduating class about the importance of philanthropy at BU and raising a record number of Class Gift donors by Commencement. Candidates must be passionate about BU, motivated to make a difference, and comfortable with flexing their communication skills. (No prior fundraising experience is required!)

Committee leadership consists of rising seniors each year. Underclassmen and graduate students are more than welcome to apply to join the general committee. The biggest benefit to joining before your graduation year? Getting a sneak peek of everything to come!

Junior board members must make a commitment of 1–2 hours a week, including weekly committee meetings, tabling on campus, and occasional evening/weekend events.

Board positions require a commitment of 3–4 hours per week, including ownership of school-based fundraising goals and leadership of a subcommittee project.

The two cochairs receive a competitive hourly salary for a commitment of 10–15 hours each week.

The application will be available in late summer and will be due at the end of August.
